October 2-6

Hello families,

It has been a wonderful first month of school. As we move into October, we will continue to work on school routines. We've been working hard on following school rules in all areas of the school: including gym, art, music, and library. 1st grade is a great place to be!

We had our 1st fire drill on Friday. As I prepared the students for the drill, some of the kiddos experienced some anxiety. We had a long discussion beforehand about how the drill helps us practice in case we have an emergency situation. If you could have a quick discussion with your children about drills, that would be greatly appreciated!

If you did not receive the parent/teacher conference link via BlackBoard (or missed it), here it is again. Make sure to sign up! I'm excited to meet with you all and discuss your children's amazing progress (yes, already!). :)

What an awesome first few weeks we have had. We are working heavily on building routines so that the rest of the school year runs smoothly. Backpack reading will begin in the next few weeks! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
