Meet the Teacher

Hello everyone!

This year is going to be absolutely wonderful and I can't wait for you to see just how much your child is going to learn! I hold each child that I work with near and dear to my heart. I always look forward to working closely with the families in my class.

I grew up in a very small town north of Moorhead, with my parents and my two younger brothers. I have my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Inclusive Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and I will be finishing up my master's degree in curriculum and instruction this fall. Prior to working at Osgood, I worked at the YMCA Early Learning Center at Calvary for 3 years. Then I taught kindergarten for 3 years, and now we are working on transitioning to a K-5 center. This will be my fourth year teaching at Osgood- I am now teaching first grade. I am so excited, I love being an owl!
I love spending time with my family, friends, and my boyfriend. Together we like to play with the puppies, Duke and Dublin, who are two of the cutest bassets you ever did see. I love to travel, read, decorate, teach, play piano, and spend time outside by the water (lake, ocean, pool—I'm not too picky)
.

I love to do anything exciting, and I love bringing that excitement into my classroom! This is my very close friend Betsy and I running the Color Run in the cities 4 years ago.

Betsy and I had a wonderful experience traveling to Guatemala together a few summers ago where we took care of malnourished infants/toddlers and worked with children in a local school. This trip was one of my favorites, and I still think about it almost every day.
Family is so important to me: here are my parents and I at the Hoover Dam. I also have two younger brothers.
